Choosing where the story happens
Up to four places: from the catalog, a real place in the world or a place of their own, with a photo if you like.
It is optional: if you don’t choose a place, the story decides where it happens. You will find it on the characters screen, under “More ideas for the story”, in “A special place”.
“Where does the story happen?”
Pressing “Choose a place” opens a sheet with three ways to add one. You can choose up to four, and a counter shows how many you have.
- The catalog: everyday places, nature, fantasy, and space and science fiction, 12 in each tab.
- A place in the world: any real place, from a city to a landmark.
- A place of their own: grandma’s house, their school, the park you always go to.

- How many places you have, up to four.
- The catalog, by kind of place.
- A place of their own: home, school.
- A real place in the world.
A place in the world
Type the name (Statue of Liberty, Grand Canyon, Mount Fuji) and cuentosIA checks whether it knows it. If it shows “Recognized”, the story draws it as it really is. If not, you are asked for a photo or a sentence about what it looks like. For names that many places share, like a Main Street or a Lincoln Park, add the city too (Lincoln Park, Chicago).

- “Recognized”: the story draws it as it really is.
A place of their own, with a photo
For a place only your family knows, type its name and what it is like. If you upload a photo, cuentosIA turns it into an illustration and uses it to draw that place in the scenes. The photo itself never appears in the story.
One place per photo: if it was a trip with a hotel, a beach and a pool, that is three places.
Frequently asked questions
How many places can I add?
Up to four per story.
What if I don’t choose any?
The story decides where it happens, based on the idea you describe.
Can the story happen in our own house or our town?
Yes. Add it as “A place of their own” with its name and a photo, and the scenes are drawn there. A town or city with a well-known name can also go in as “A place in the world”.
Now you know how. Time for yours
All three modes cost the same: one story. If you get stuck on a step, this guide is still here.
