1. Your Right to Erasure
At cuentosIA we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your account and all associated information we have stored, along with the timelines and legal exceptions that apply.
2. What We Delete
When you submit a request, we permanently remove:
- Your user profile (email, name, preferences)
- Stories you have created, including generated text and illustrations
- Any photo or visual reference you uploaded (original photos are already deleted right after each story is generated)
- Saved shipping addresses and recurring characters
- Linked third-party login identifiers (Facebook, Google) if any
3. Data We Must Keep by Law
Tax and e-commerce regulations require us to retain certain records even after your account is deleted:
- Invoices and payment records: up to 5 years (Spanish General Tax Law 58/2003)
- Minimal audit logs required by our payment provider (Stripe)
- Anonymised or aggregated data that no longer identifies you
4. How to Request Deletion
Email us from the address linked to your account with subject "Data deletion" to hola@cuentosia.ai. To speed up verification, please include:
- The email address you used to sign in
- Any recent order ID, if you remember it
- The reason for the request (optional, but useful to improve the service)
We will acknowledge receipt within 72 hours and send you a confirmation code you can use to check the status of your request.
5. If You Signed In with Facebook
If you linked your account through Facebook Login you have two equivalent paths:
- From your Facebook profile: Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and Websites > select cuentosIA and click "Remove". Facebook will notify us automatically.
- Or write directly to hola@cuentosia.ai with the subject "Data deletion (Facebook)" stating the linked email.
In both cases we complete the deletion within the timeframe described and provide a confirmation code so you can verify the status of your request.
6. Timelines
We confirm receipt of your request within 72 hours and complete actual deletion within the following 30 calendar days. If we need to extend this deadline for justified reasons (data volume, backups), we will let you know in writing before it expires.
7. Status Verification
Once your request has been processed we will give you an alphanumeric confirmation code. To check the status of your request, write to hola@cuentosia.ai citing that code and we will reply with the current status and, where applicable, a detailed explanation of any data we cannot delete because of the legal obligations described above.
8. Other Rights and Complaints
Beyond the right to erasure, you keep all the rights described in our Privacy Policy: access, rectification, objection, restriction and portability. You can exercise them at hola@cuentosia.ai. If you believe we are not handling your request correctly, you may file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
